It is a tradition for Dave to spend Thanksgiving weekend on the ice, it is his birthday present to himself. He has been know to drive over 500 miles for first ice, this year he was able to fish in Northern Minnesota. He started fishing in Grand Rapids with Kelly Koplin, Rick and Jody Johnson, and Scott and Kody Seibert (of SKS Guides); but, with poor ice conditions on Sunday, Dave and Rick moved on. Their next stop, Detroit Lakes MN, the ice conditions were better with 4-8 inches of ice. This video is actually and slide show of the adventure, hope you enjoy.
